Avoid Electronic Theft

Did you know that thieves can actually steal sensitive information from you like your credit card information, passport number or personal information without the need of even touching you? This is called “electronic pick-pocketing”. How does this work? Well one thing that you should know is that credit cards, debit cards, and even passports are implanted with an RFID chip or radio frequency identification chips. It actually works like those high-end hotel keys where you just have to swipe the cards and the information is readily available.

Thieves can actually get that information if they have the right kind of readers and by just merely standing next to you, you have no idea that you are already giving out confidential information that can be used against you. Which is why it would be best to get yourself rfid blocking wallets to prevent these thieves from accessing your credit card or any important personal information. That way, you’d know that you’re safe.

Do you use a Dictionary?

Posted by myDailysunset | 2011 P-Online,Hand Held Dictionary | Sunday 19 June 2011 11:44 pm

One thing I like about Google is that they are able to instantly translate text to almost any language. It’s like having a dictionary and thesaurus online at all times. This only works though when you’re online, but for me, since I try to update my blogs anywhere I go by writing content offline, I would still want a hand held dictionary with me.

I just hope I get to buy one of those gadgets that serve as a dictionary or a thesaurus instead of flipping through my pocket dictionary (from my college days). I will sure be on the lookout for those at our local stores.

Music Therapy

I’m really enjoying borrowing Julie’s iPod whenever I’m home and she’s not using it. I’m actually thinking of buying one myself (finally!) as well as some Bose speakers for my computer to complete my total experience.

When I got sick a couple of months ago and resorted to playing some relaxing music, I think it really helped me out. Work has been so stressful, as well as my allergies to the weather, that listening to music almost became therapeutic. Now I’m thinking of getting my own iPod so I can also use it when I go to work when I need a little break.

Creative green decorations for the house’s playroom

Guest post written by Will Macy

When my wife and I decided that we were going to redecorate the kids’ playroom, we decided that we would try and use some materials that we already have around the house so that we could do it in a green way. I already had some old cans of paint in the garage, so we set out to paint an old piece of canvas that I also used as a drop cloth to paint our dining room. We painted a mural on it with the kids and it just made the whole room look so great.

But we needed a little more inspiration for the other green elements of the room. So I went online looking for them and while I was doing that I found some information on a shop energy rates site and ordered a savings energy package for our house.

For some of the other playroom decorations we’re going to use some reclaimed wood to paint some other decorations in there. Our kids are so creative anyway that we thought it would be a special thing for him too.

Trees and Plants

I am so glad that I was able to stock up on water in our stainless steel barrels. With how hot it is now, I need to constantly water our trees and plants especially because they’re at their most delicate stage.

We just planted new trees and plants in our garden and if not for the stored water, I wouldn’t be able to keep up with hydrating it. If the heat is unbearable for us, I can’t imagine how hot it is for these trees and plants. Aside from adapting to the change in soil, they definitely need lots of water to keep up with this weather.
